Tam arrived at Willows Animal Sanctuary in the summer of 2004. He is a Tamworth pig and although this is a rare breed of pig Tam was facing the usual fate for a pig and was due to be slaughtered. We think that this is all rather sad as pigs are known to be as intelligent as dogs so we decided to give him a home for life here at Willows.

Tam quickly made himself at home and was soon installed in a nice large pen with lots of straw and mud and FOOD!! He is very keen to meet visitors and runs up to greet them and loves to be scratched!!
