Willows was asked if it could provide
a home for an elderly pony and her mule offspring. Their
current owner was moving abroad and she was very concerned
that a safe home be found for them. She also expressed her
concern that there was another resident in their field – an
elderly horse who was also facing an uncertain future. As all
three equines had shared a field for the past 15 years it was
decided that Willows would offer a home to all
three.
In due course Muffin and his two
companions arrived and were placed in adjoining stables for
assessment. It was clear that the third horse which we named
Ginger was in a very poor state of health. However with
intensive care he is now looking much better and he and
Caramel (Muffin’s mum) are enjoying their
retirement.
After a while when Muffin was feeling
settled at Willows we introduced him to the other residents.
Muffin is now a happy member of Willows Animal Sanctuary and
will stay here in safety for the rest of his
life. |
